When “perfectly fine” doesn’t feel like you

There’s nothing wrong with your house

You know that feeling when your house looks great on paper, but it just doesn’t feel like you? Maybe you inherited it from the previous owners. They clearly spent a lot of money and care making everything “nice.” The kitchen is solid, the floors are fine, the built-ins are perfectly respectable. But still—something feels off. The space doesn’t quite reflect you.

And that’s okay. There’s nothing wrong with it—it’s just not your style. The good news? That’s an easy fix.

You don’t need to start from scratch to fall in love with your home. Sometimes all it takes is a few thoughtful changes to make a space feel more personal, more you. At Project Parkea, we sprayed the built-ins in a beautiful new colour that instantly brought warmth and personality to the room. At Project Gladstone, the shelves around the fireplace got new doors, shelving, and hardware—simple updates that completely transformed the feel of the space. And at Cosburn, we reimagined the fireplace with richer materials and a touch of drama that made the whole room come alive.

Small changes really can make a big impact. A fresh coat of paint, a new light fixture, updated hardware, or a little styling magic can shift a space from feeling “inherited” to truly your own. Add drapery and texture, layer in meaningful details, and suddenly you feel at home in a whole new way.

Because even if everything is in perfect condition—and probably cost a lot—you don’t have to live with someone else’s style. You deserve a home that feels warm, comfortable, and unmistakably yours.

Befores and Afters

Another Halloween in the books

We may have traded the costumes for comfy clothes and a little too much leftover candy, but we’re still smiling about all the creative pumpkin moments this year. Every October, we somehow end up with a kitchen full of seeds, carving tools, and ideas that may or may not go as planned. But that’s half the fun.

From the classic jack-o’-lanterns to the slightly too ambitious designs (you know who you are), we’ve loved watching our pumpkins come to life over the years — and this year’s batch might be our best yet.

We thought we’d share a few of our favourites from Halloweens past — proof that a little creativity (and a lot of mess) can go a long way.

Here’s to clearing away the pumpkin guts, lighting one last candle, and welcoming cozy-season mode in full. 🍂
