A better-feeling home—and a better holiday next year—starts now.
Now that everyone’s back to work and school, many families start imagining how they want the year to feel at home—calmer, more functional, more inviting.
The holidays tend to highlight what isn’t quite working: rooms that feel crowded when everyone gathers, not enough storage for all the extra stuff, furniture layouts that don’t quite keep up. And now, with a long winter ahead, you’re left finding homes for the overflow and living with the friction.
January is when most families decide they don’t want to repeat that next year.
Starting your plan now means this year can feel different—and next holiday season can feel easier. More space to gather. Better flow. Storage that actually works. A home that supports cozy meals, everyday family life, and entertaining without the stress.
This was exactly the moment one of our clients found themselves in.
They were a family of three, with a big extended family and a home full of meaningful pieces collected over time. Their beloved heirloom dining table held years of memories—but it was never quite large enough when everyone gathered. Instead of replacing it, we designed a custom concrete leaf to extend it, restoring its ability to host the people it was always meant for after the original wood leaf was lost.
Around that centrepiece, we added thoughtful storage where it mattered most: a built-in dining bench with hidden storage (and sat a whole bunch more people), a custom media unit for toys and books, and their vintage china cabinet reimagined at the front door to quietly keep everyday clutter in check.
The result is a home that feels more like them—personal, functional, and ready for real life. They even know exactly where the Christmas tree will go every year now. Next time the holidays roll around, the space will be ready long before the guests arrive.
